Communication Technology Services (CTS, formerly known as UIHC Telecommunications Services) provides the required infrastructure components; copper and fiber optic cabling, electronic devices, major communications and ancillary systems to support both wired and wireless voice and data services. CTS also provides UIHC telephone operator and paging services through the Telecommunications Center located on 4th floor General Hospital. CTS recently acquired responsibility for nurse call and infrared locate systems and video distribution for patient rooms.
